Corona Virus Update

TLDR:  We ARE still planning for summer 2020, including several contingency plans should new regulations be put into place.  Week 1 is cancelled (no groups affected by this change)   Please hold on ... we are hoping for a normal summer for the sake of our local kids & community!

Spring group are cancelled, and our staff are continuing to serve local families by offering over 500 meals daily to our community.

Statement from Directors:

Big Creek family,

The COVID-19 crisis is impacting all our lives and evolving daily.  Our prayer is that you and your church family are healthy, and finding ways to serve your community during this difficult time.

All of us are struggling to navigate through these uncertain Although we are not hosting any volunteer teams currently, our staff are working hard to provide hundreds of meals daily to local children and families.  Our staff are still working to provide as many home repairs as possible.  We will continue to serve until told otherwise by the authorities in Kentucky.  We are mindful of the regulations and suggestions put forth by our governor, the CDC, and WHO.

We are communicating with our spring mission groups regarding cancellations and rescheduling their times of service.

Regarding summer, we are continuing to plan with the hopes of a "normal" summer.  Although we may have to develop a "new normal" here at the mission, we are exploring several different contingency plans should regulations and "social distancing requirements" be in force.

At this point, there's a lot we don't know.  Let's approach this summer with prayerful optimism - as the Lord will guide and provide!

For the sake of the hundreds of children waiting for their daycamp experiences... for the sake of the hundreds of families awaiting home repairs... for the sake of the lonely and hurting, we hope you'll still plan to serve with us here in Southeast Kentucky.

Be assured -  our staff is working hard to serve our community now, and prepare for your service opportunities this summer.  We will let you know immediately should there be any changes or modifications to our current plans.

In Christ Alone,

Kevin Rogers, Director
